Happy 2018! It’s March 13th and here is what it looks like out my back slider…this is the second snowstorm we’ve had in the past five days. Spring feels a long way off.
I know I am woefully late with my New Year’s tidings – it’s definitely been a minute since I’ve posted anything. As life often does, a couple of things happened right before the holidays that threw the blog a couple of curve balls.
First, Lisa decided for personal reasons to take a step back and re-dedicate the time she had spent writing for the blog to her family. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Lisa – and felt privileged that she shared her writing – which was always witty, heartfelt and true to who she was – with Maison Mass. Her amazing home and design sensibility will also be greatly missed on the blog. Lisa has impeccable taste and a knack for creating beautiful, warm spaces that you never want to leave. I’m hopeful she will consent to a cameo sometime in the future and the meantime I know she is doing what is best for her family.
Shortly after that decision was made, I was approached by my old employer with a job offer. It was a chance for me to get back to the company that started my journey in the whole residential design space. I still knew a lot of the people and the role was exciting. So after giving it a lot of thought – I felt it was something I couldn’t pass up. So shortly before Thanksgiving, I started working full-time again.
It has taken me awhile to get my footing and find some balance between work and family and the blog – but I am ready to give it a go. Stay tuned!
